Mission:
The AIAS UC-Denver Chapter is an outgoing group of architecture students interested in investing extracurricular time in being more engaged in the world of architecture. Our members have established and participate in various student committees where they can learn more about and make a difference in their specific areas of interest, such as the Committee on the Environment for those interested in sustainable design, and many others. Furthermore, AIAS members have access to more design competitions and networking events than many others.
Vision:
To improve the AIAS members’ experience in the College of Architecture and Planning, and to make the members’ transition into the design profession easier and more successful.
Goals:
- Build relationships between members throughout the College.
- Build a relationship between AIAS members and professionals through collaboration with AIA Colorado and AIA Denver.
- Build a relationship between AIAS members and the faculty through collaboration with the UC Denver College of Architecture and Planning.
Strategies:
- Provide an interesting and informative Lunch Lecture series.
- Provide opportunities to visit local architecture firms.
- Provide local events and competitions shared by AIAS and AIA to allow for networking opportunities.
- Provide joint committees between AIAS, UC Denver and AIA to allow members to get involved in their education and profession.
